30 Day Draw Blog

A friend at work decided to do a 30 day drawing challenge blog , give a topic everyday and draw whatever you can, when you can. So it can be as simple as a 10 sec gesture drawing, up to spending all day doing something elaborate. Myself and a fellow co-workers have jumped to give it a go.

What I like the most is that, if you forget, than literally you can do something up in a min or two. It doesn't matter how skilled one is, its all for fun.

So this concludes my Masters of the Universe as little kiddy people. I know there are more out there, the more obscure ones. But for the most part I think I got all the ones that we all remember. As I was going through the list I started coming across characters I never even heard of, so I am happy with the list. I posted 2 different version, one with the BG and the other without, I couldn't pick which one I like more.

These guys were part of the rock people. They transformed (very loosely) to form rocks or meteorites, or something like that. The transformation wasn't even complete, you could flip it over and it was wide open, just like if Optimus Prime transformed into a truck but didn't' have no right side.

This guy looked pretty neat, considering most he-man figures were getting really silly at this point. Don't know his story, but I guess it was a guy who wanted to reach the remote and wished for long snake arms. Makes sense to me, been there.

This guy was really cool for it time. Its around this era that glow in the dark things were the fad or at least one of the many fads. So to have a guy that glowed in the dark was the bee knees! (That means "Cool" for you young folk) But I didn't own this guy and kinda wish I had, he would have had great battles with Skeletor about who gets to make tea.

Skeletors version of battle cat. It didn't come with a cool helmet, instead he was completely covered in a fine fur. I guess that will work, as years go by the fur starts to fall off and it looks like he as some kind of disease.

This guy was awesome, every little boys dream. You could fill up his body and press down on his head and he would squirt water in a fine mist. It was awesome, easily one of the funnest( I know its not a word) He-man toys I owned. I clogged up the squirt nozzle when I tried to see what other liquids I could squirt from his mouth. Paint doesn't work well.

The king of the Snakemen, a story line that I am not too familiar with in the cartoon. I had a few of these guys. This here guy had his outer shell come off to expose and body of snakes. He looks quite silly in this form.

The only black man in the masters of the universe. His name, CLAMP CHAMP....so there's a tournament for clamping? and this guy is the champion of clamping? This as to be one of the saddest characters in the MOU.

As a kid I remember seeing this guy in the toy store and thinking,"He's lame, all he does is sit and rule a kingdom" Maybe if he came with laser shooting action or robot legs but a crown seemed to offend me as a kid. ( I don't question my kid brain)

I think I have used up most of the staples of Masters of the Universe and now we enter the age of weird and strange side support characters. I never even heard of this character, but you can tell from the hair do alone that he's a Tom Seleck or Chuck Norris badass. The Mustache completes him.

I had this one when I was a kid as well. When he was fully extended, he towered over all the master of the universe characters at twice their height. He was pretty impressive and was the beginning of all the silly characters.

I really liked this toy has a kid, a cross between Skeletor and He-man, AWESOME!!! But to think that he was made to infiltrate He-mans life and no one would notice. Again,adding to the absurdity of this franchise.

I first saw this guy in a mini He-man comic in some magazine. My first thought was ,"this looks stupid". At some point I think He-man toys(absurd to begin with) Just turned into outlandish ridiculous things. Which is what gives this toy line its appeal to many, including myself.

This guy was part of the Snakemen. I don't recall the snake me in the actual show. I think they came late in the series. But this guy had a button that you press on his back and his head would spring out and if you shook em, well he sounded like a rattle. Great for babies, unless they pressed the button and his head would shoot down the babies throat. That's horrible, I'm going to hell for thinking that or it could be a warning. -(WARNING - could choke your baby)

I had this guy has a kid, he had a little gear on the back that you could make his entire body spin around and his arms would flail outward creating a giant cyclone that would suck kids up into the air where you could fly so high that you would enter Care-A-Lot. You ever have a smell that sticks with you through the ages (not literally of course) I still come across this smell today. I don't know what it is, but I remember it is usually passing older woman in Sears. The smell hits my nose and I go,"holy shit, that's Stinkor from He-man".

Another great toy. Didn't have any moving parts but came with COOL removable armor. I loved my battlecat. Many of my friends also had this toy, but again ,I seemed to be the only one who took care of my toys. Everyone else had cracks and breaks, poor poor battlecat.

This guy i didn't own, but we all had that cousin who would get toys and didn't really give two shits about them. So I would look forward going to his house to play with his He-man toys, but they were always broken, pieces missing and just plain in poor condition. With his Man-E-Faces toy, he had taken his pocket knife and cut out the head in the helmet. That thing was hard, so he put alot of time and effort in scooping out the head. Sadness.

This was another great toy. I never understood the choice of weapons for this guy, it was a green club that fit over his small claw. It rarely stayed on and almost always fell off, but who needs a club when you got a giant claw for a hand.

My neighbor 2 houses down had the toy of Teela, well his sister did. But I remember going to his house and waiting in the porch area while he got ready and sitting on the bench was Teela. I picked her up and my first thought was, "She soooo tiny, like a starwars figure".

Another great toy. One of my favorite things about this toy was that there was a latch for his sword on his armor. Not the spinning eyes, but the little sword latch.

I loved any character that could fly, which was why Buzz-off was one of my favs has a kid. Unfortunately, I did not own Stratos, but I never knew if he was a bird man or just a man that had things that helped him fly. Its more clear in the newer cartoons, but in the 80's, I didn't have a frikken clue.

Another great toy, came with the most accessories of any He-man, from what I can remember. I tried to take off the black piece around his arm, I always thought it could come off cause it could slide around so easily. I never did get it off.

I thought my toy of this guy was broken, mainly because when I turned his torso to the right his neck would extend, but he wouldn't turn to the left. But for some reason I thought that he could also turn to the left and his neck would extend as well. So I still don't know if that was possible or if all Mekaneck toys worked this way. Very colorful character.

A great toy, again this is one of those toys that I had gotten before I saw him in the cartoon show. So I didn't have a clue who he was. Which does a lot for a child's imagination and have to say I enjoyed him much better after seeing him in the show.

This guy was one of my many favorites has a kid. Mainly because he had wings. I never understood the helmet, it could hardly stay on his head. So many times in pretend battle, his helmet was the first thing to get knocked off.

Never had any of the toy female characters. My neighbour friend sister had Teela and she reminded me of my star wars figures. All small and tiny, sheesh, He-man could split her in half. I always thought his name was weird, MAN AT ARMS, what about MAN AT FEET, or MAN AT LEGS? He definitely was not in my top 10 favorite He-man characters when I was kid. But an old and good friend of mine, Adam8er, have random drawing challenges for each other. He drew beastman and I drew this guy.

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

Just saw transformers 2, and I went in with low expectations and full well knowing that I am going to see shit blow up while Megan Fox sits on things. So lets just say that I know what I am getting into. Plus all the Michael Bay press, mostly bad about how he directs a movie, BOOOMM!!! In fact this movie put Michael Bay in the Guinness Book of world records for filming the largest explosion ever in a movie.

I got ta say, this was a damn freakin good movie. I really liked it and what was a really highlight was the character that was sam's mom, she was a real treat to watch. But overall, the movie was great, plot holes and all.

My only 2 complaints were:
1) You would see a robot one second, then the next he would be gone. Where did he go? Did he just walk away from the battle? Did he say,"screw you guys, I'm going home"
That seemed to happen alot.
2)All the girls in the movie looked like Megan Fox clones or versions of. Why? isn't one enough? I guess not.

So I am not looking at this has a fan boy or a Michael Bay hater, but just a real fun summer movie. Go see it, you won't be disappointed.
